Its been rumoured on the ‘net for a while now, with industry insiders speculating whether the concept would work. Gradually, over time more details have been leaked, picture mock ups and spec speculations have cropped up.
Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese newspaper mentioned yesterday that the ‘gaming system on a phone’ could be released as soon as Spring 2011.
Codenamed the Zeus Z1, Xperia Play, or something else (???) by the time it’s on store shelves. Theres no official word on the specs of the phone so its difficult to anticipate how it will slot into the current market, however with CES and MWC approaching hopefully Sony Ericsson will come clean; to the relief of Sony?Gaming gameboys worldwide.

There are many questions left unanswered — how (and if) any of this ties into the standalone PSP2, how gaming titles will be purchased, and how many models will be available that support the platform,
