Following in the footsteps of one of my favourite trainers of all time (the Jordan 7 DMP) New Balance have collaborated with Highs & Lows, an Australian outfit who recently gained serious recognition within the community by working with Reebok on some collaborations. They have worked together to produce a ‘day and night’ pack.
The pack consists of 2 pairs of kicks, The Day 577 is inspired by the beach, lazy barbecues and the city’s blue skies and golden sun. With a whole host of variations of Blue throughout the shoe and the orange detailing on the tongue, heel and NB logo; its easy to see the beach sunrise/sunset inspiration.
For the Night 577, a stealthier package was the basis with black full-grain leather and raw nubuck with 3M detailing. Again, the concept shines through with the high contrasting black and white colourway. The use of different materials (leather, nubuck) gives the black colour various levels of depth. I like them alot!

Not to forget, my favourite quality of New Balances; shape. That door-stopper wedge shape is definitely a win for me.
A release is set for April 2010.
